What's going on at Friends' Central ?
Friends' Central is a private school, with different buildings for each subject, very advanced technologically. It's a Quaker school (kind of religion derived from protestantism) but only 5% of the students are actually Quakers. One of its particularities is that once a week (on Wednesdays), they have a 'meeting for worship' : all the school meets in the common room for an hour of silence, but anyone that feels like delivering a message to the community can do so.
We had a presentation of Philadelphia's most famous buildings about architecture, by a history teacher from Friends Central.
This school gives woodworking classes (the students have to build anything with wood, like jigsaw puzzles, chairs...), owns an orchestra for students who perform twice a year. Finally, as a major part of American schools, Friends' Central makes a yearbook in which pictures and testimonies of the students are shown.
