At the airport

Friday, October 28th was our last day in Philadelphia (and in the USA). We attended to classes and at 3:00, we all had to be at the airport. As the school day ends at 2:30 on Fridays at FCS, most of the exchange students were at the airport with us. Everyone was on time.

Mr Micolier came with a carton full of Friends Central School 2011 Yearbooks. We were very happy and so grateful for this wonderful gift and some of the French group asked the Americans students to write messages in theirs.

We went to the counter to get the plane tickets and to check our luggages in. We talked and took a lot of photos and after a while, we started to say goodbye. Therefore : a lot of hugs and some tears. We were all very sad to leave although we knew we were going to see them again in 141 days.

Madame was here too. We all gathered in circle with her. She said "Give me a C! Give me an S! Give me an I! What does thhis stand for? Give me an F! Give me a C! Give me an S! What does this stand for?". We all responded together and the Americans joined us for a collective hug.

The goodbyes lasted a long time. We didn't want to leave at all. The families stayed until we passed the security and kept on waving us from far.

Then we had some time before getting on the plane. Some of the students remained seated, looking at the Yearbooks, talking or recovering from their emotions. Some other students went to the store to buy last-minute-gifts and souvenirs. We finally left Philly at about 6 o'clock.

On Saturday 29th, it started snowing a lot and as a result, the airport was closed and the flights were canceled. So we were very lucky even though we wouldn't have mind staying another few days!
